Frequently Asked Questions
How would you describe your style of photography?
-I take pride in the capturing the little moments, the details and emotions of your wedding. I will help guide you through the process of planning your wedding photography. I am with you every step of the way to make it as convenient and comfortable for you as possible. My style is a cross between lifestyle and documentary. I sit back and let moments happen, but I also help curate some moments to get the most out of your wedding day images.
What kind of equipment do you use?
-I use all professional grade Nikon gear. I have multiple lenses and camera bodies, as backup, just incase. I use a mixture of new and old lenses such as: Meyer Optik, Sigma and of course Nikon. I use both primes and zoom lenses for wedding photography, depending on the situation. I also use profoto flashes (A1) and I bring off camera lighting if creative and dramatic pictures are called for.
How many photos will we get from my wedding?
-It depends on how long your wedding day coverage is. Typically I get between 60-70 finished and edited images for every hour of wedding day coverage. For portraits and lifestyle photography shoots, the number is between 20-30 an hour since these require more guidance and curating.
What kind of wedding packages do you offer?
-I offer custom wedding experiences depending on the coverage you need. I believe that great photos should be available for everyone. I will work with you to write a timeline for your wedding day. This is important to make sure that there is enough time to make it to all the locations and to maximized all he photos for that day.
What other kind of photography do you offer?
-I offer many different types of photography including portraits, events, family and newborn photography. If you are curious regarding rates, please see my price list for my other photography sessions on the pricing page I also offer engagement photography sessions as part of most of the wedding photography packages. If you are interested in booking an engagement session please see the pricing page. Don't worry, if you choose to book me after the engagement shoot, I will take the price of the 1 hour engagement shoot off of the wedding package.
Do you travel if I am having a wedding in another country?
-Of course, I travel. Message me to see if I am available for your wedding date.
My wedding venue requires all photographers to have insurance? Are you covered?
-Yes I am covered. I have separate business insurance.
How can I hold my wedding date?
-If you have decided that we are a good fit, and you would like to book me as your wedding photographer, I require a signed contract and a 30% deposit. If you are not sure, I will always let you know if someone else has made a request for the same day.
What if it rains on my wedding day?
-Living in Vancouver, we see all kind of weather. Unfortunately I have no control over the weather, but the good news is that the photos don't stop just because it is raining. Photographing in the rain comes naturally to me and all my camera equipment is resistant for the rain. Truth is, some of the best wedding photographs come out of the rain. I ask that you come prepared with umbrellas for the wedding party and be ready for some photography magic.
How long will it take to see my wedding photos?
-I typically try to front load as much from my wedding photography assignments. I will download the images, while still at the reception and even edit a few to send to you before I leave, as I don't want you to wait (which can seem like forever) to see a sneak peak of your wedding photos. I will have your finished gallery up between 4-6 weeks, but normally sooner. Engagement and smaller sessions are normally 1-2 weeks.
Do you photograph engagement sessions?
-Yes I do. They come with most wedding experiences .
Do you edit all the photos?
-I edit all of the photos. I enjoy editing, and do not outsource any editing.
